Leuca “De Finibus Terrae“
Inside the courtyard of the famous Shrine of St. Maria de finibus terrae are visible remains of a fortified village of the Bronze Age, while descending towards the sea, towards the western tip of Capo (Punta Ristola), you can visit the Cave Porcinara, an ancient shrine dug into the rock with inscriptions of Imperial Age. On the tip, there is Grotta del Diavolo, where there were found archaeological evidences of Neolithic and Bronze age referring to a cult. The distance from our hotel is 32 km.
Lidi di Ugento “Maldive del Salento“
The coast of Ugento includes Lido Marini, Torre Mozza and Torre San Giovanni: more than 10 km of beautiful beach with white sand and clear water, called MALDIVE DEL SALENTO. All the coast is equipped with beach clubs to give the guests the possibility of relaxing. Our Hotel is agreed upon with Lido Onda Marina, whose distance is only 700 mt. Now, the beauty of this place, the green dunes, the Mediterranean scrub, the natural basin belong to the natural park of Litorale di Ugento, with more than 1600 hectares established by Regione Puglia in 2007.
Lecce Capital of the Baroque
If you want to discover one of the most gracious town of southern Europe, you have to visit Lecce. It is the commercial and cultural heart of Salento. It boasts of a remarkable heritage of monuments, with testimonies of Roman, medieval and Renaissance age. Several buildings have been built up between the end of the ‘500 and the beginning of 700: the style that predominates is the Baroque, which in this city took peculiar forms. Remarkable is the architectural complex of Piazza Duomo, surrounded by beautiful baroque buildings.
Gallipoli “nightlife of Salento“
The town of Gallipoli appears in a magic atmosphere, with its coastline, and the old part built on an island, bathing in the blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The origin of the city of Gallipoli derives from an ancient city of Sicily, with the same name. It is said that the inhabitants of the Sicilian city landed on these shores to escape the cruelty of the tyrant Dionysius and laid the foundation of a new city around the year 350 a.C. The distance from our hotel is 31 km.
Otranto “Gate East“
A holiday in Otranto is an immersion in the history of the Mediterranean. You can enjoy exclusive bays and villages, you can admire the gardens that seemed the Eden to the Turks. For years Hydruntum was the political, cultural and commercial heart of Salento. It was Byzantine and Gothic, then Norman, Sveva and Aragonese. Today, the Arab influence is in the streets, in the arts and buildings, while Greece is very close. The distance from our hotel is 56 km.
